US Trade Delegation Visits Duqm Special Economic Zone

A US trade delegation, comprising a number of businessmen visited the Special Economic Zone at Duqm today. 
 
The visit aims to strengthen the network of business cooperation and communication on the short and long term, increase expertise at the international level and enhance the trade cooperation with the US businessmen and investors. 
 
The delegation was led by Huninnah bint Sultan al-Mughairiyah, Sultanate\\'s ambassador to the United States of America (USA) in the presence of Greta C. Holtz, US ambassador to the Sultanate and a number of officials at the Embassy. 
 
The delegation was briefed on a number visions related to the projects. The tour included a field visit to the dry dock, Duqm port, tourist area and the master model of the zone. The delegation also familiarized with the tax exemptions list and investment benefits to attract and encourage business. 
 

Saleh al-Hassani, Director of Investors Services at the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD) explained that this visit comes in response to the promotion campaign to the USA last year in a three major US cities, namely Houston, Chicago and New York. The delegation viewed the advantages of the zone and the available investment opportunities, which seek to open investment, attract business and industries for the zone to serve the growth of the Governorate and contribute in creating job opportunities. Al-Hassani Affirmed that SEZAD has adopted a strategy that aims to promote for the zone by organizing visits for the international businessmen who are in their turn will highlight the available opportunities in the zone to their countries.
