Reduced fees for services provided to SMEs

March 26, 2017

The Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (SEZAD) decided to reduce the fees for its services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by 50% as of Monday (27 March 2017).

The decision comes within the framework of SEZAD efforts to encourage SMEs to work in the Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZD) and to allow them to benefit from the investment opportunities available there.

The Decision, published in Official Gazette No. 1187, states that the reduction of fees applies to SMEs owned entirely by Omanis and registered with the Public authority for Small and Medium Enterprises development (Riyada). The reduction is valid for five years and renewable for a similar period if necessary.

SEZD has been witnessing the implementation of several projects in the infrastructure sectors, as well as major projects in various economic sectors, leading to high demand for services provided by SMEs.
